with Gerd Heuschmann in May 2009

"Some horses are being trained
with mechanical and technical devices in the shortest time possible
The
goal of training should be to further the horses capacity to perform, and
optimize his physical beauty as well as his overall well-being by taking enough
time [in the process].
Gerd Heuschmann, DVM,
in the preface to Tug of War
Jim is holding a copy of
Heuschmann's book, Tug of War, in the photo above. Also flanking
Heuschmann is Keelan Belle, a former student of Jim's who he taught in 1979 in
Colorado. Jim and Keelan reconnected at the master class. High Hopes Dressage
sponsored the event.
Heuschmann is coming to
Bainbridge Island in August and Jim is applying for a riding spot with him.
Ulla Boysen is sponsoring that clinic.
